Spring is upon us, and even in the Caribbean the trees and plants let us know of the seasons change. The weirdest image is that of the sisal plants, sending a spear soaring skyward...... giant bright green "asparagus" dots the landscape for the next three months. These huge spears are the last dying gasp of the plant - it will wither, fall over and sprinkle thousands of tiny baby plants as it falls, ensuring the cycle goes on and on. And with the spring, as with the northern climes, usually come the spring rains.

So often, people assume the weather in the Caribbean is the same all year, but we have a lively and vivid changing of each season. Not as dramatic as snow, ice and massive temperature shifts however, but the smell of orchids in summer, the birds arriving in the fall, the wild winter sea and the mad asparagus spears of spring keep me straight on the season! I love living in TCI,  and encourage you to come and explore the homes for sale on Pine Cay - to find your own Caribbean retreat!!

Life in Pine Cay shows the seasons both physically and socially. Fall slowly moves forward as the hotel opens, members converge for the annual meeting, and the island wakes up after the summer shutdown. Winter is busy, as guests and members fill the hotel and villas. For Christmas and New Years the island is bursting with everyone busy fishing, swimming, snorkeling, dancing and enjoying each other's company. Spring brings the kids for school breaks and Easter vacations and then a gentle tapering off,  as Pine Cay becomes a quieter island moving toward summer. It is pleasant to feel the changes, grow into them as your lifestyle on Pine Cay takes shape for your family, celebrating each season with your own rituals. All seasons are special on Pine Cay, and each year a little different, to keep it always interesting and fresh.

For the first time visitor, come in the late winter or early spring to experience the sun's heat, and the sea's turquoise splendour at its robust peak. For those seeking more peace , come in late spring or early fall, when you roam the island as if it were your own. Those wishing lots of company and shared activities do well visiting during December / January holiday time, or early summer when the kids are free from school.....A time for all ...visit Pine Cay in your time and find a home of your own in the Caribbean.
