The environmental ethics shared by Pine Cay members have preserved the island in an enviably natural state, and activities which touch the earth gently are available every day. In keeping with the surroundings, you can exercise without creating a footprint, without adding to the ozone, without harming nature in the slightest.
Kayaking
This ocean sport brings you as close as you can be to the water and the sealife underneath the waves. Paddle through the Aquarium, along the iron shore or out to the nearby deserted cays and savour the experience of gliding on top of the clear turquoise sea. You can catch a glimpse of the fish seeking shade by the Aquarium shelf, paddle near the bonefish churning up the sand as they feed, feel the pelican overhead looking for his lunch….all the while knowing you are keeping mind and body fit with exercise!
Biking
The unpaved roadways of Pine Cay offer miles for biking and many owners travel from home to the club on bikes instead of using their electric golf carts. Pack up a snack, some water, your current novel and bike to another part of the island to explore and relax.
Eco-walks
The two eco-walks cleared offer trails into the unspoiled indigenous landscape and around the fresh water ponds at each end of the island. Quiet complete. Find wild orchids to smell, observe the birdlife, watch the clouds while walking at your own pace. Enjoy your own company. And take time to appreciate the fact of 600 acres of common green space preserved and protected.
What The Meridian Club on Pine Cay does have is mind-altering tranquility, as well as delicious food, an attentive staff, and a perfect two-mile long beach...The atmosphere here is old-money casual: men are asked to wear collared shirts to dinner, but shoes are optional.
