From the Summer 2012 Realty Report . . .
This is quite an exciting time in Turks and Caicos Islands! Summer time, hot and steamy - with a forecast for a below average hurricane season. Elections have been announced for November 2012 to return TCI to a democratic government with an elected parliament. The countrywide budget has been accepted and offers optimism across the board for a surplus of revenue in 2013. The citizens are active and inquisitive, ready to take responsibility for the country through open debate. And both the tourism and realty sectors have shown great improvement in 2012 - which is good news through and through. More visitors, more property sales, more jobs, more development will bring better economic security, especially as it is on a small and rational scale. Investors can look to TCI with confidence for a long term secure future, and a future with a distinct culture. Turks & Caicos will remain an outstanding destination in the Caribbean, ever more convenient, ever more accessible and ever more stable.
